Nothing could be of greater importance than the health of our precious planet. We look carefully at each aspect of our operation and business to work towards the goal of nurturing our immediate and broader environment, be it walking to work, weaving by hand, or sourcing locally and organically.

Our sustainability commitments.

  • Sourcing of materials.

We are very selective with the sourcing of our materials so as to ensure the best possible quality of yarn, all the while ensuring products are produced ethically and sustainably. Wherever possible, we work to ensure our yarn is sourced locally. We also aim to ensure sourcing of materials respects traditional and cultural origins for each product.

  • Materials.

A great number of our materials are certified by internationally renowned labels so as to ensure traceability and sustainability practices are respected. You can find some of the certifications we carry below.

  • Who we work with.

We aim to ensure both our suppliers and clients are aligned with our sustainability vision. This means we only work with suppliers we know can ensure a certain sustainability and quality standing in their products.

  • Shipping.

Whilst we ship our products internationally, which necessarily incurs a certain environmental cost, we aim to ensure avoiding any unnecessary journeys and make sure our packaging is kept minimal so as to avoid any unnecessary waste.

  • Company values.

Through MM Design, we are striving to keep alive handcrafting skills, all the while working towards a more sustainable consumption model. The nature of our company as a luxury textiles enterprise implies by its very definition that our creations are made to last and be passed down generations, and therefore reduce excessive consumption.

  • Looking to the future.

Though we aim to be as sustainable as possible as a company overall, we aren’t perfect and still have some ground to cover in terms of our sustainability practices. That’s why we want to keep our existing sustainability commitments, all the while looking to add some in the future. We are notably looking into rethinking our shipping to make it more planet friendly and are also looking to work with associations to redistribute some of our company’s financial gains into helping save our planet.
